The migration of Atlas Insurance’s legacy data cubes presented several challenges:

• Accelerating Initiatives:
  Atlas Insurance had to speed up key initiatives within its Business & Artificial Intelligence (B-AI) team, that required transitioning from an on-premise data cube to a cloud-based solution. This change was very complex and needed additional expertise and resources to ensure a smooth transition.
• Extending Team Capabilities:To effectively manage the migration, it was essential to extend the B-AI team’s capabilities by integrating Eunoia’s expert knowledge. This collaboration provided greater flexibility in resource allocation and access to expertise crucial for tackling complex tasks.
• Identifying Improvement Areas:
  The organisation required support in prioritising and identifying areas for improvement within its BI processes. Eunoia’s involvement helped pinpoint opportunities for enhancement and implement effective solutions, ensuring the transition aligned with business objectives.
• Technology Alignment:
  Atlas Insurance was using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services and aimed to align with new technologies such as Power BI. Eunoia’s familiarity with both existing and emerging technologies facilitated a seamless integration, meeting the company’s technological and business needs during the migration to a cloud solution.

Eunoia was entrusted with the critical task of executing the insurance data migration to a cloud solution, focusing on three key projects:

Cloud Migration of Data Cubes

Eunoia successfully migrated three data cubes to a cloud solution. This migration not only eliminated the limitations of the on-premises cubes but also enhanced speed, scalability, and connectivity.

Enhanced Performance

The cloud-based Power BI cube significantly improved performance, delivering faster query responses and report generation compared to the legacy system. The migration reduced processing times by 83 % from approximately 12 hours to less than 2 hours for incremental updates.

Seamless Transition

The transition to the cloud solution was executed with minimal disruption. Users only needed to update their connections to the new Power BI cube, which was completely rewritten to enhance functionality while maintaining the same tables and fields for easy integration into existing processes.

Quantitative Results

• Data Processing Efficiency: Reduced processing times from 12 hours to under 2 hours, thus 83% reduction.
• Improved User Performance: Faster query responses and better data accessibility and security without relying on VPNs.
